Wine Barrel Wreath DIY
Guest blogpost TAKEOVER by Julia Terpstra
Hello Farm Momma Friends! It’s Julia from @juliaterpstra! My pal Heidi of @heidiheartsflowers and I put on a super fun workshop and I wanted to share it with you! Are you ready to make Wine Barrel Wreaths? These beauties are easy to create and can be made from clippings you forage from your yard. Let’s get started!
The first thing you need to do is gather your supplies. You will need a pair of clippers, wire, a wine barrel ring, greenery and extra accessories.
Start by adding a greenery base to your barrel ring. You will need to wire them on tightly! You can see from the picture that some are going up and some are facing down. Keep building your base working in different directions.
Don’t forget to cover the sides & back of your ring. Heidi calls it sandwiching the ring between the greens! Hide the wire the best you can.
I’ve finished my greenery base here, now it’s time to start adding more texture.
I like to wire together little bundles, then wire the bundles onto the wreath.
Adding in accessories gives your wreath personality! You may want to add in glass ornaments, pinecones, dried oranges, ribbon, berries ...whatever makes you happy!
I added eucalyptus and berries to mine.
Here you can see some dried and spray painted flowers were added for texture!
Keep wiring and adding until you are satisfied.
Wouldn’t this be a great thing to do with a group of friends?
It’s even Otis approved! We had so much fun with this workshop. I can’t wait to see what you do! Follow @fireweedcreativemarket for more creative ideas, and @heidiheartsflowers for some gorgeous inspiration!
Thanks for getting creative with me!
